My art practice explores the complex interplay of identity, personal history and the performative aspects of self-preservation. I often incorporate a “glitch” style to emphasis the visual representation of dissociation and masking, Through exploring this theme I feel that my paintings offer an experience of connection that allows the audience to confront their own identity and experiences of masking, working as a type of confrontational but comforting mirror that says “we are not alone in this”.
